ABOUT BLUE ART STUDIO COMPANY
THE START OF SOMETHING NEW
A Passion Project Turned Business
Blue Art Studio Company is the incorporated studio of Dallas native artist, Blue (Hudson Harris). In its infancy, Blue Art Studio Company was intended to be an online storefront to sell products under the Blue name: a creative outlet for a long-forgotten passion - Art. Originating in 2021, the scope of Blue Art Studio Company has since expanded.
Staying true to the company’s original mission to be a “creative outlet for art”, our expansion was driven by the idea that art is best experienced in an environment tailored to showcase the artist’s message. As such, Blue Art Studio Company grew from an online storefront to a multi-faceted design company with art, furniture, interior design, and lighting concepts developed in-house.
It is with a tremendous amount of excitement that we continue to grow the Blue name as a trusted source of art and design. We hope that you continue to follow our journey and only ask of you two things: stay creative….and stay classy.
WHY THE RABBIT?
A brief history by the artist (Hudson Harris aka Blue)
Blue - the BASCo icon - comes from my first love in design; street art and graffiti. Among several factors like color, lack of rules, and aggressive presentation, one feature that stuck out was the symbolism an artist could create from their pseudonym, i.e. their street name. It focused people’s attention on the art and presentation and less on the personal life of the individual. It was a clever form of creativity and I was obsessed with finding one of my own. After months of passive and active thought, Blue ultimately came to me as a pre-teen while sitting in a doctor’s office reading a Highlights magazine. There was an image of a cliff that shared a resemblance to a rabbit sitting down with his arms folded. At the suggestion of my mother - I took the idea home to mull around. Days later I drew Blue’s image for the first time and decided last minute to add his signature sunglasses. His name, on the other hand, is less symbolic - it’s just my favorite color. Blue represents what I like to see in design; a combination of attitude, simplicity, and subtlety. Decades later these remain unchanged.
